Update after Dr. Jan's bronchoscopy

Some of you may not be aware that Dr. Jan Gebert underwent a bronchoscopy yesterday (received it well after the test).  Here is what Dr. Harry has to say:

Dear Praying Friends,

Thank you for responding and praying for Jan today.  Her bronchoscopy went very well.  According to her physician, it did not look as bad as he suspected he would find.  There was some inflammation and extra secretions in the lower lobe areas, but he was not able to find any connection into any abscess cavities.  He took laboratory samples that will be sent to isolate any bacteria that may be present.  There were no complications.  This blessing is so refreshing to us.

Earlier this week, Jan asked me to arrange for pastors and church leaders to come and pray for her according to James 5:13-18.  Pastors, leaders, and wives came from four of our supporting churches that are within two hours of Allentown.  During the bronchoscopy, we had a very special time of prayer for Jan in the waiting room.  After her procedure, we went back to Jan's room, and 12 of us surrounded Jan's bed, read Scripture, anointed Jan with oil, prayed for her healing, and sang a hymn.  Tears of joy and gratitude flowed freely down Jan's cheeks and she held up her hand in prayer and worship to God.  How we were blessed by these men and women representing their churches and representing you who pray for us from your town and church!  We can not express adequately our gratitude to all of you who are praying for Jan.

I will keep you aware of the next step for Jan.  She is resting very comfortably tonight.  We will be talking to the thoracic surgeons about possible placement of drains from the outside of Jan's body into any abscess cavities - this procedure would most likely take place tomorrow guided by CT scan.

Gratefully,

Harry and Jan
